Job description

Northern Gear & Machining is seeking an experienced 2nd Shift Production Supervisor to collaborate with a team dedicated to the success of our customers. This individual will be responsible and accountable for the employees during the shift, while operating various machines as needed. They will ensure employees follow all processes, procedures, and safety/work policies that we have in place. This is a working supervisor position. Bilingual in English / Spanish is preferred.
Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience as a production supervisor or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and quality standards.
  • Minimum 5 years of CNC Mill and Lathes experience.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure quality and delivery requirements are met.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Strong team player, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to the organization.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and thoroughness.

Responsibilities:

  • During your shift, all operators will be instructed to notify you of downtime and you will approve and/or move them to another machine.
  • Communicate all absences to HR/Plant Operations Manager.
  • Responsible for maintaining posted rates.
  • Evaluate and Train all new hires and make recommendations.
  • At the end of each shift, review and approve employee production.
  • Responsible for all material produced on the shift.
