Production Supervisor

As a Production Supervisor at ATMI-Indy, you'll play a critical role in managing daily production activities, leading foremen and crews, and ensuring our precast operations run smoothly. You'll have the opportunity to influence safety culture, drive process improvements, and see your leadership directly impact project success.

The Production Supervisor is part of ATMI-Indy's management team and is responsible for overseeing daily production operations. This position supervises foremen and coordinates plant activities to achieve safety, quality, and production goals. The Production Supervisor ensures schedules are met, teams are aligned, and continuous improvement initiatives are implemented effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and plan production activities, establishing priorities for effective operations and cost control
  • Lead daily meetings with foremen to review safety, production goals, and resource planning
  • Oversee quality, safety, and housekeeping standards across all production areas
  • Direct and observe employees to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Investigate and document safety incidents, disciplinary actions, and performance issues
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement production improvements
  • Coordinate manpower and equipment resources to meet project deadlines with minimal overtime
  • Monitor material usage, maintain inventory, and ensure timely ordering of supplies
  • Recommend employee hiring, transfers, promotions, and recognition
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures related to labor, overhead, and materials
  • Support preventive maintenance scheduling and equipment inspections
  • Serve as a role model for attendance, professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Previous manufacturing or industrial production leadership experience required
  • Experience in precast or prestressed concrete preferred
  • ACI Level 1 and PCI Level 2 certifications required; PCI Level 3 a plus
  • Strong understanding of production processes, safety, and quality control
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and prioritize team tasks effectively
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to climb onto or down from equipment and walk long distances in an industrial setting
  • Must be able to work in outdoor conditions that may include inclement weather, heat, humidity, and dust
  • First shift position (40+ hours per week) with occasional weekend work required
