Job description

a growing general contractor focused on multifamily housing across Southern California, is seeking an Assistant Superintendent (Multifamily Construction) to join their team onsite in Palmdale, CA. This role supports a Lead Superintendent on an active project, playing a key part in keeping the job on track, maintaining quality, and ensuring a safe, efficient jobsite. It is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys being in the field and wants long-term growth with a steady project pipeline.

What You'll Do as the Assistant Superintendent (Multifamily Construction):

  • Support daily field operations alongside the Lead Superintendent
  • Coordinate subcontractors and ensure alignment with schedule and milestones
  • Help maintain jobsite organization, workflow, and productivity
  • Assist with sequencing of trades, deliveries, and inspections
  • Identify and escalate potential delays or field issues early
  • Conduct site walks to verify work meets plans, specs, and code requirements
  • Assist with punch list tracking and project closeout activities
  • Enforce safety standards and support OSHA compliance efforts
  • Participate in jobsite safety meetings and monitor subcontractor adherence
  • Track daily manpower and maintain jobsite logistics and cleanliness
  • Provide regular updates on field progress and issues to project leadership

Must-Haves as the Assistant Superintendent (Multifamily Construction):

  • 5+ years of construction experience with exposure to multifamily projects
  • Experience supporting ground-up construction projects
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and trade coordination
  • Ability to proactively identify issues and communicate effectively
  • Comfortable working onsite full-time in Palmdale, CA
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
