Executive Field Leadership Opportunity

An established and highly respected commercial general contractor is seeking a proven General Superintendent to oversee field operations across a large and diverse portfolio of commercial construction projects throughout the Phoenix metro area.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a true senior field leadership role with one of the top commercial GCs in Arizona — leading multiple projects, mentoring high-performing Superintendents, and directly influencing operational execution across the company.

The organization has built an exceptional reputation over decades for delivering high-quality projects, maintaining long-term client relationships, and creating one of the strongest cultures in the Phoenix construction market.

This is not simply a “jobsite Superintendent” role.

This is a leadership position for someone who genuinely wants to lead people, develop teams, improve field operations, and operate as a strategic partner to executive leadership.

What You’ll Be Leading

You will oversee and support approximately 15–20 Superintendents as direct reports while helping drive field execution, operational consistency, scheduling performance, safety standards, and project delivery across multiple active commercial projects.

Projects include:

????️ Ground-Up Commercial

????️ Tilt-Wall Industrial

????️ Retail Developments

????️ Self-Storage Facilities

????️ Healthcare Projects

????️ Restaurant & Hospitality

????️ Tenant Improvements

????️ Mixed Commercial Construction Projects Across Arizona

This company performs a wide variety of commercial construction work throughout the Phoenix market and western U.S., making this an ideal opportunity for a construction leader with broad project exposure and strong operational depth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of approximately 15–20 Superintendents across multiple active projects
  • Oversee field operations from preconstruction through project closeout
  • Drive scheduling accountability, field coordination, and project execution standards company-wide
  • Support Superintendents with project planning, manpower strategy, sequencing, logistics, and problem-solving
  • Ensure all projects maintain safety, quality, and production expectations
  • Partner closely with Project Managers, Operations Leadership, Ownership, and Executive Teams
  • Standardize field processes, reporting, communication, and operational best practices
  • Conduct project site visits, progress reviews, and operational audits
  • Assist in resolving complex construction, scheduling, subcontractor, and client-related challenges
  • Support hiring, training, mentorship, and development of field personnel
  • Promote a strong culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and safety
  • Monitor staffing allocations and field resource planning across concurrent projects
  • Help drive project profitability through operational efficiency and proactive field leadership
  • Maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and inspectors

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of commercial construction Superintendent experience required
  • Prior experience operating as a General Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, Lead Superintendent, or Multi-Project Superintendent strongly preferred
  • Proven success overseeing multiple large-scale commercial projects simultaneously
  • Experience leading and mentoring other Superintendents and field teams
  • Strong background in ground-up commercial construction and tilt-wall projects
  • Broad project exposure across retail, industrial, healthcare, storage, hospitality, and tenant improvement construction preferred
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, organizational, and operational management skills
  • Strong understanding of scheduling, sequencing, logistics, safety, and QA/QC
  • Proficiency with Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar construction technologies
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume commercial construction environment
  • OSHA 10/30 Certification preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required

Compensation & Benefits

???? Base Salary: $150,000 – $200,000 DOE

???? Performance Bonus: Approximately 8%–12%

???? Vehicle Allowance + Gas Card

???? Benefits Include:

  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
  • 7%–10% Company Retirement Contribution
  • Life & Disability Coverage
  • PTO + Paid Holidays
  • Professional Development Support
  • Long-Term Career Growth Opportunities

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

This company has built one of the strongest reputations in the Phoenix construction market through exceptional leadership, long-tenured employees, and a people-first culture.

Many members of the leadership and operations team have been with the organization for 20–25+ years — a direct reflection of the stability, culture, and long-term opportunity available here.

You’ll be joining a collaborative, highly respected team where leadership values operational excellence, trust, accountability, and taking care of people.

For the right construction leader, this is a long-term career destination opportunity with one of Arizona’s premier commercial general contractors.
