This position offers a fully remote work setting, allowing you to create a balanced work-life schedule that suits your needs. You will have the autonomy to set your own availability, eliminating mandatory minimum hours, and enjoy the advantage of receiving payment for late cancellations or no-shows. Our operational team minimizes administrative burdens, handling billing and documentation, so you can concentrate on what you do best: helping clients.

• Provide individual therapy sessions utilizing cutting-edge therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing tailored to each client’s needs.
• Encourage a safe and empathetic environment, showing genuine concern for client well-being while facilitating discussions around their treatment goals.
• Engage clients in the process of creating personalized treatment strategies that may incorporate the harm-reduction model, as well as moderation-focused approaches.
• Encourage participation in community recovery support groups and programs (e.g., AA, Smart Recovery) while elucidating how these can complement therapy.
• Participate in optional peer groups and collaborative meetings with clinical teams to foster a supportive network among practitioners.
• Receive referrals and lead support groups as opportunities arise, offering diverse avenues for client engagement.
• Contribute to the creation of “Expert Insights” materials with our Content Manager, enhancing the practice’s visibility and client knowledge.
• Cultivate strong relationships with clients and act as a liaison to coordinate additional services as needed.

You will be working primarily with adult clients seeking assistance with their relationship with alcohol. Many clients may have diverse backgrounds and experiences, making it essential to foster an inclusive and understanding therapeutic environment. Our clients often range from those seeking total abstinence to individuals interested in moderation strategies. As a counselor, your expertise will guide them through various pathways to recovery, ensuring that their treatment aligns with personal values and goals.

• Must hold an active LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC license in the state of California.
• Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including CBT, DBT, and Trauma-Informed Care, and familiarity with motivational interviewing strategies.
• Understanding of harm-reduction principles in the context of alcohol use treatment.
• Excellent engagement skills, demonstrating a capacity for empathy and active listening.
• Knowledge of community recovery resources and the ability to integrate these into client treatment plans.

• Experience of 2+ years in a clinical mental health setting.
• Background in substance use treatment or dual-disorder clients.
• Previously led support groups or community workshops.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and virtual counseling techniques.

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from $120,000 to $140,000, commensurate with experience, along with a sign-on bonus.
