Description
The Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for creating and implementing outreach opportunities for Summit Church-both locally and internationally-and overseeing the onboarding and development of all Summit volunteer leaders, team members, and outreach volunteers.
Responsibilities
Outreach Responsibilities
Local & International Outreaches: Develop consistent and tangible ways for Summit Church to partner with local non-profits and international organizations that share the good news of Jesus Christ.
Local Outreach Partnerships: Strategize ways to partner with organizations such as Kings Compassion, Trulight127, Eagle's Flight, SA Church of Hope, Untethered Ministries, Magdalena House, and other ministries in San Antonio and surrounding areas.
International Missions: Lead and create opportunities for Summit Church members to participate in overseas missions.
Chosen Foundation: Create opportunities for local and international organizations to be supported by the Chosen Women's Conference and organize annual events for children in foster care.
Corporate Events & Community Impact: Strategize and implement plans for Serve Days, Back-to-School drives, mentoring programs, Thanksgiving baskets, disaster relief efforts, and other community outreach initiatives.
Summit Pantry & Hope's Closet: Plan volunteer schedules, coordinate food deliveries, manage cleaning and organizing routines, and serve the community weekly.
Outreach Team Development: Build and lead an Outreach Team that can connect, support, and volunteer for needs within Summit Church and the broader community.
Volunteer Onboarding & Team Development
Volunteer Culture: Cultivate a contagious volunteer culture where individuals are inspired to serve, grow, and engage in the life of Summit Church.
Onboarding Programs: Develop comprehensive onboarding programs tailored to volunteers' age, life stage, and expertise.
Leadership Training: Implement leadership development programs for new volunteer leaders, including ongoing training and regular meetings (e.g., handling difficult situations using Matthew 18 principles).
Volunteer Leadership Identification: Identify servant-hearted leaders of all ages to lead teams for corporate and special events, providing training and support.
Event Volunteer Coordination: Create and execute plans for volunteer needs at special and corporate events. Lead volunteer meetings to communicate event vision, expectations, and logistics (e.g., Chosen, Christmas, Easter).
New Volunteer Integration: Personally meet with new volunteers or establish an onboarding team to help them find their place within Summit Church.
Team Development & Support
Team Care & Appreciation: Develop plans for Summit Teams to provide care, encouragement, and appreciation to their members.
Training Support: Assist other teams with training logistics, including room setup, resource provision, refreshments, and support.
Resource Research: Research leadership and volunteer development resources to benefit all departments and volunteers at Summit Church.
Administrative Duties
• Process all departmental purchase orders and invoices on a weekly basis.
• Be available for coverage in an emergency, Summit Church receptionist duties
• Submit and manage PO's, Planning Center communication, and reservations, Basecamp requests on a regular basis

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Experience working for or with non-profit organizations or educational settings
• Bachelor's Degree
