SUMMARY:
Gain hands-on experience with our associates, particularly our Greenhouse, Yard, and Maintenance Crew Leaders, to understand the complete lifecycle of a maintenance or enhancement project. Our internship program aims to provide students with practical experience in each specialized department. Interns are paired with seasoned Mariani associates/mentors who guide and educate them throughout the internship process. Internships offer an excellent opportunity to study how Mariani creates and maintains award-winning landscape projects throughout the Chicagoland area. Mariani's diverse portfolio of landscape projects, ranging from green roof projects in Chicago to palatial estates in the Northshore, provides many unique opportunities for a motivated individual. This entire process allows us to continue our commitment to educating college and university students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
� Collaborate effectively with the Crew Leader and team members.
� Ensure high-quality standards in all tasks performed.
� Actively contribute to all job site activities, including mowing, trimming, planting, watering, and more.
� Participate in Mariani training programs related to equipment and safety.
� Arrive on time, prepared, and in appropriate uniform for each workday.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
� Pursuing an Associates or Bachelor's Degree in a Landscape related degree program.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
� Enrolled in a current landscape-related degree program
� Demonstrated knowledge of landscape terminology, plant materials, or installation techniques
� Ability to follow instructions from the Crew Leader
� Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate with other Crew Members
� Proven ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines
� Commitment to learning Mariani standards and procedures for work completion
� Prioritization of safety and adherence to safe work practices
� Accountability for work performance and timely completion
WORKING CONDITIONS:
� Work requires continuous physical activity including standing, reaching, bending, twisting and walking. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to client needs and deadlines. Work will be conducted in outdoor elements (sun, rain, wind), 8 � 12 hours per day.
