Job description

About this Job This is a full-time position located at the State Library in Baton Rouge, LA. The Administrative Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Library Development (LD) Division of the State Library of Louisiana. The LD Division delivers services to all public library systems and state institutions across Louisiana, and this position supports communications and operations that are ongoing and frequently statewide in scope.

This role supports the Associate State Librarian and LD staff, coordinates youth services and institutional programs, and ensures effective recordkeeping and administrative functions. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic, service-oriented environment. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: Assist with planning and coordination of continuing education events, including logistics, materials, and workshops for youth, teen, and institutional services Support development of program resources, study guides, training materials, and presentations Conduct research to gather background information and support program initiatives, reports, and evaluations Coordinate mailings and distribution of youth services information, publications, and early literacy materials Support Summer Reading programs, including creation of book lists, crafts, and workshop materials, and attend events statewide Promote and assist with youth-focused resources, including databases and early literacy initiatives Provide support to institutional services, including communication with libraries and coordination of interlibrary loan activities Maintain accurate records, files, databases, and documentation in compliance with state recordkeeping requirements Assist with data collection, reporting, audits, and administrative functions for division programs and partnerships Provide general administrative support, including managing communications, preparing and editing documents, and assisting with events such as the Louisiana Book Festival Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: This is a probational appointment

Current permanent status state employees may be required to accept a probational appointment. Career Progression: This position is in a Career Progression Group to an Administrative Coordinator 4.
