Are you ready to jumpstart your career with a summer internship at Tyson Foods? We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Accounting & Payroll Intern to support our Amarillo Complex. This role offers hands-on experience in payroll operations, administrative support, and financial processes within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

As an intern, you will gain practical exposure to real-time payroll processing, data entry, and cross-functional office operations while contributing to meaningful work that supports our team members and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support payroll processing through accurate data entry, validation, and reconciliation activities
  • Assist with administrative tasks including record maintenance, reporting, and documentation
  • Apply basic math and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional office teams and support coverage across work areas as needed
  • Adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines

Requirements

Education

  • Incoming junior, senior, or graduate student with at least one semester remaining
  • Preferred majors: Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field

Experience

  • Previous work experience preferred; exposure to office, payroll, or administrative functions is a plus

Communication & Professional Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow processes, policies, and detailed instructions
  • Professional, reliable, and collaborative

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) required
  • Basic knowledge of financial or payroll systems (SAP exposure is a plus)
  • Strong data entry accuracy, numerical aptitude, and attention to detail

Work Hours

  • Available to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer

  • Must reside within a commutable distance (60 miles or less) unless relocation is provided
