About the Role
As a Specialty Camp Counselor, you will lead hands-on activities in the area of cooking, sports, science, or robotics, delivering a structured and exciting experience that fosters creativity, skill-building, and teamwork. Following the camp day, you will transition to supervising aftercare, providing continued engagement and support for campers until pickup. This hybrid role offers the chance to guide specialty programming while helping create a consistent, high-quality experience across the full day.
You will also:
  • Lead and supervise a designated group of campers in cooking, sports, science, or robotics activities
  • Plan and deliver interactive programming aligned with your specialty area
  • Ensure camper safety and well-being throughout both camp and aftercare blocks
  • Maintain camper accountability with regular headcounts and supervision
  • Monitor allergies, special needs, and behavior in line with camp policies
  • Serve as a positive role model through professionalism and active engagement
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with campers, staff, and families
  • Attend all required staff meetings and trainings
  • Support arrival and dismissal procedures as needed
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting; supervisory experience preferred
  • Familiarity with a camp or similar group activity environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to engage and work effectively with children and team members
  • Ability to plan, organize, and lead camp activities and games
