Primary Purpose:
To lead campers through daily activities while ensuring their safety and abiding by all rules set forth by camp directors.
Job Category: Non-Exempt

Essential Job Functions:
**THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT ON CAMP ENROLLMENT**
1. Ability to supervise a group of 20 -25 school age children.
2. Ability to supervise and train junior counselors and volunteer junior counselors. Help ensure positive staff morale by monitoring, guiding, and leading by example; and sustaining a positive attitude.
3. Ability to design age-appropriate curriculum for campers, ranging in ages from 5-13.
4. Desire and ability to work with children both indoors and outdoors. Willingness to lead and participate in all camp activities with designated campers.
5. Ability to design daily activities (lesson plans) with an end product in mind for designated periods throughout the camp season for activities such as: Archery, Arts and Crafts, Cheerleading, Coding, Cooking, Dance, Digital Photography, Innovation, Marine Science, Sports, Tennis, Video Game Design.
6. Design and organize rainy day camp curriculum.
7. Oversee all activities with enthusiasm and demonstrate patience with campers and other staff.
8. Inform Director of any camper and/or staff problems or concerns.
9. Be knowledgeable about camper's health conditions and dietary restrictions.
10. Ability to assist campers who may need extra time acclimating to camp.
11. Ensure that all campers are actively participating in full camp experience.
12. Enforce camp safety rules and regulations.
13. Assist campers in carpool, both before and after camp.
14. Follow appropriate safety guidelines for all camp activities.
Job Requirements: Must be available to work all dates:
May 19-August 8, 2026
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
2. Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staffs at all levels.
3. Ability to provide leadership in developing and maintaining camp services.
Required Certifications/Licensures: Successful completion of the FDLE Background Screening
Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Major (if required:
Required Experience: 1. Two years' experience teaching in a camp, program and/or school setting.
2. Training or experience in Archery, Arts and Crafts, Cheerleading, Coding, Cooking, Dance, Digital Photography, Innovation, Marine Science, Sports, Tennis, Video Production.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field.
2. Current CPR and First Aid Certifications
