Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The pool/racquet attendant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and terry inventory from the pool and racquet areas, which includes the removal and resupply of towels and trash from the outdoor areas. The attendant maintains the restrooms, furniture and all outdoor water stations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Continuously circulate throughout the designated areas determining where service is needed. 
  • Service the members and co-workers needs with genuine care.
  • Check the restrooms to ensure they are clean and supplied at all times.
  • Collect soiled towels, pick up trash, clean furniture and set it back in order and clean the decks as necessary.
  • Stocks all outside water stations with cups and ice as needed throughout the shift.
  • Follow proper procedures for area closures and lost and found items.
  • Ensure the storage areas are always neat and clean.
  • Report potential problems and hazards to manager/supervisors immediately.
  • Contribute to the overall security of the club and safety of the members and guests by reporting any unusual or suspicious behavior.
  • Will enforce club rules to help prevent hazardous behaviors.
  • In the event of inclement weather, assisting in laundry or hotel as directed by management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to meet the following minimum physical requirements for at least an eight-hour shift:

  • Physical Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and other physical activity for extended periods of time. Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Must also be able to maneuver carts and equipment weighing up to 200 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Work Environment: Must be able to work safely and effectively in outdoor weather conditions for extended periods. Employees may be exposed to temperatures exceeding 95°F during the summer months and temperatures below 20°F during the winter months.
  • Hearing / Speech: Must be able to effectively engage in one-on-one communication with guests, members, and customers and use a 2-way radio to communicate clearly and accurately with co-workers.
  • Vision: Must be able to accurately read instructions, reports, and log sheets. Must be able to work with computers and PDAs in varying light conditions.
  • Literacy: Must be able to produce, read and understand reports, including security, incident and police reports. Must be able to analyze and process written information from a variety of sources and effectively communicate content of reports.
  • Chemicals/Agents: Must be able to work safely with chemicals according to SDS sheets and all applicable laws, codes and regulatory requirements.
