Become the next Hospital Medicine Physician in Mason City, Iowa

We are hiring a part-time hospitalist. All team members will rotate and assist with night shifts, where they will have the opportunity to proctor residents. The majority of shifts each year are the day shift.
Local Team Collaboration:
  • Well-established team of 8 physicians at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center.
  • Work alongside highly trained specialists across the continuum of specialties.
  • Closed ICU
  • No procedures
  • Teaching hospital

Qualifications:
  • Board-certified/eligible in family or internal medicine.
  • All levels of experience are considered. New graduates, residents, and fellows are welcome to apply.
  • We proudly sponsor H1B visa candidates and provide in-house visa specialists, licensing, and credentialing support. All required filing fees for visas are covered by Sound.

Scheduling:
  • Our model allows for flexible scheduling and working 12-hour shifts.
  • Part-Time, benefit eligible with 7 shifts per month.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Day shift: Work with two other hospitalists in completing rounds and admitting patients.
  • Night shift: Complete admissions and provide cross-coverage and Code/RRT support throughout the hospital - proctor resident physicians.

  • Mason City, with a population of 30,000, is in North Central Iowa, halfway between the capital cities of St Paul, Minnesota, and Des Moines, Iowa.
  • Enjoy numerous activities, including sailing, boating, skiing, swimming, & fishing, in nearby Clear Lake, IA.
  • Excellent Public and Private School options, as well as a Community College
  • Ample hobbies and pastimes await you and your family, such as the Diamond Jo Casino, Roller Skating, axe-throwing, Mini Golf, and North Iowa Events & Ice Arena. You can also enjoy watching the North Iowa Bulls Hockey team during the winter months, and the waterpark at the Mason City Aquatics Center during the warmer summer season.
