A Subaru Tech, also known as a Subaru Technician, is an automotive service professional who specializes in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Subaru vehicles. These technicians are trained to work specifically with Subaru's unique systems, such as their all-wheel-drive technology and Boxer engines. Subaru Techs may work at dealerships, independent auto shops, or specialized service centers, using both manual skills and computerized diagnostic tools to ensure vehicles run safely and efficiently.

What are some common challenges Subaru Techs face when servicing newer vehicle models?

Subaru Techs often encounter challenges with rapidly evolving vehicle technologies, such as advanced safety systems and hybrid powertrains, which require ongoing training and familiarity with specialized diagnostic tools. Job description

Love Encore SpecialistMcDaniels Subaru Columbia

Full-Time

Join the Team That Keeps Subaru Owners Loving Their Subaru

At McDaniels Subaru, we believe purchasing a vehicle is just the beginning of the relationship. Our Love Encore Specialist serves as the go-to resource for customers after they take delivery, helping them understand the technology, safety features, and connected services that make Subaru ownership unique.

If you enjoy helping people, love technology, and can explain complex features in a simple and friendly way, this is the perfect opportunity.

What You'll Do

As our Love Encore Specialist, you'll create an exceptional ownership experience by serving as the dealership's product and technology expert.

Responsibilities include:

  • Contact new Subaru owners to schedule personalized Love Encore appointments within the first 14–45 days of ownership.

  • Conduct one-on-one vehicle technology sessions tailored to each customer's experience and comfort level.

  • Demonstrate Subaru EyeSight®, STARLINK®, Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, navigation, adaptive cruise control, X-MODE®, multimedia systems, and connected services.

  • Assist customers with Bluetooth pairing, phone setup, personalization settings, voice commands, and MySubaru enrollment.

  • Answer post-delivery technology questions and become the dealership's primary product expert.

  • Support the Sales and Service departments with Subaru technology questions.

  • Coordinate appointment scheduling, follow-up communications, and customer outreach.

  • Help drive customer satisfaction, retention, and Subaru Love Promise initiatives.

  • Stay current on new Subaru models, technology, and product updates through ongoing manufacturer training.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who enjoys teaching and building relationships more than traditional selling.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills

  • Comfortable using smartphones, apps, computers, and vehicle technology

  • Organized with excellent follow-up habits

  • Positive, energetic, and patient personality

  • Ability to explain technical concepts in an easy-to-understand manner

  • Professional appearance and demeanor

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Automotive experience is helpful but not required. Retail, hospitality, technology support, education, training, or customer service experience translates exceptionally well into this role.

Why McDaniels Subaru?

At McDaniels Subaru, we are committed to delivering an ownership experience that extends well beyond the sale. Our Love Encore Specialist plays an important role in building long-term customer relationships while helping owners gain confidence in every feature of their new Subaru.

If you enjoy creating memorable experiences, solving problems, and helping people get the most out of their new vehicle, we'd love to meet you.

Benefits include:

  • Competitive compensation

  • Health, dental, and vision benefits

  • 401(k)

  • Paid time off

  • Employee vehicle purchase and service discounts

  • Career growth opportunities within McDaniels Auto Group
