Summary:
The Repair Technician Sr, Lead, reports directly to the Field Operations Manager and is tasked with the assembly, repair, testing and movement of AV Inc. Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (SUAS) in a manufacturing or maintenance facility following released engineering drawings and assembly instructions using our work order system, in support of the SUAS Field Operations Team. This role serves as a Team Lead.
Duties:
  • Assemble, repair, and test SUAS products following released engineering guidelines and assembly instructions using our work order system
  • Perform operational checks
  • Final assembly of ground control equipment and air vehicles
  • Testing and troubleshooting subassemblies and final assemblies
  • Occasional soldering
  • Prepare and coordinate transportation of equipment in support of AV Flight Operations events
  • Work with other Repair Technicians and Engineering to correct and improve any documents related to the assembly and maintenance process at a high-quality standard
  • Work with manufacturing engineers to improve assembly efficiency, improve product quality, reduce manufacturing and repair costs, and validate released assembly and fabrication documentation
  • Responsible for ensuring that work order protocols are followed and that work order paperwork is completed as the work is performed
  • May also train other technicians or operators to repair products and follow established assembly processes
  • Consistently work on assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues
  • Maintain an organized, clean and safe environment
  • Maintain inventory and track location of all assigned AV products
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain US government security clearance if needed
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Current Remote Pilot Certificate under FAA Part 107
  • 5 to 10 Years relevant experience working on and operating SUAS's and ground control equipment
  • Experience with hand tools including crimpers, drills, taps, torque wrenches, power and air tools
  • Experience with standard Safety and ESD practices
  • Demonstrate above average computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office software
  • Clean driving record
  • Available to travel CONUS and/or OCONUS locations as necessary, up to 20% of the year
  • Strong communication, active listening, judgement, decision-making, critical thinking, complex problem-solving and presentation skills
  • Able to excel in fast paced deadline driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties, and at times work autonomously
  • Display strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives
  • Focus on teamwork and put the success of the team above one's own self interest
  • Must have the ability to work with little or no supervision and exercise independent judgement on a regular basis
  • Effectively lead, train and mentor a small team in meeting company goals

Additional Preferred Qualifications:
  • Vocational training in electronics, mechanics, or aviation maintenance
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
  • Ability to perform composite repair on SUAS
  • Drive forklifts
  • Has been successfully ICAO certified the transportation of Lithium Batteries
  • Completed DOT Hazmat Transportation Security Awareness and Safety Awareness training

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to work in a maintenance or manufacturing environment
  • Good manual dexterity to frequently use hand/power tools and assemble AV products
  • Ability to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time
  • Lift/Move 5-40 lbs. objects of various shapes and sizes (frequent)
  • Lift/Move 70 lbs objects of various shapes and sizes (occasional)
  • Throw 16 lbs. objects above shoulders (occasional)
  • Crouching, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, feeling, lifting, balancing (occasional)
  • Specific vision abilities required include near/far/peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to give and receive verbal communications

The salary range for this role is:
$68,000 - $96,600
