Job description

About the Role

Stylex is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Temporary Junior Buyer to join our Manufacturing Supply Chain team for an assignment of up to 90 days. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in procurement and supply chain within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will support day-to-day purchasing activities, helping ensure that raw materials, production supplies, and services are procured efficiently and delivered on time to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, process, and maintain purchase orders for raw materials, production supplies, and services.
  • Monitor supplier deliveries and proactively follow up on outstanding orders.
  • Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotations, confirm lead times, and resolve delivery issues.
  • Collaborate with Production, Planning, Warehouse, and Finance teams to ensure material availability.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with replenishment planning.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and update supplier information within the ERP system.
  • Assist in evaluating supplier performance, including delivery, quality, and service metrics.
  • Support cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement efforts within the procurement function.
  • Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies, procedures, and purchasing standards.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Supply Chain department as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree, diploma, or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Procurement, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous purchasing or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
  • Experience using an ERP system is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
