What You Will Do:

As a Nursing Assistant Student PRN, you will collaborate with Registered Nurses to provide essential patient care and ensure a positive healthcare experience for patients and families.

  • Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, feeding, ambulating, and hygiene.
  • Obtain and document vital signs, intake and output, and blood glucose levels.
  • Support nurses with procedures including incentive spirometry, dressing changes, pulse oximetry, and nasogastric tube insertion.
  • Aid in patient transport, admission, and discharge processes.
  • Maintain patient safety and cleanliness of the care environment.
  • Communicate patient condition changes to nursing staff promptly and accurately.
  • Perform waste removal and specimen collection in line with safety protocols.
  • Retrieve medications and maintain equipment per hospital policies.
  • Contribute to patient education and discharge planning under RN direction.
  • Support clerical tasks including answering intercoms, greeting visitors, and stocking supplies.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and uphold patient rights.
