How much do student weekend jobs pay per hour?
What is the difference between Student Weekend vs Student Part-Time Job?
| Aspect | Student Weekend | Student Part-Time Job |
|---|---|---|
| Required Credentials | Usually none or minimal; high school or college student status | Varies; may require specific skills or certifications depending on role |
| Work Environment | Typically on weekends, flexible hours, retail, hospitality, or event settings | Flexible hours, can include weekdays, retail, office, or service industries |
| Employer & Industry Usage | Common in retail, hospitality, entertainment sectors | Widespread across various industries including retail, food service, and administrative roles |
Student Weekend roles focus on weekend work with minimal credentials, often in retail or hospitality. Student Part-Time Jobs offer more flexibility across different days and industries, sometimes requiring specific skills. Both are popular options for students seeking income while studying, but they differ mainly in scheduling and job scope.

What Are the Qualifications to Get a Student Weekend Job?
The qualifications to get a student weekend job differ depending on the position. Many student weekend jobs are entry-level opportunities that provide on-the-job training. Because these positions are often available for students who are 16 or older, you do not necessarily need to have a high school diploma or GED certificate. To help us achieve this, we are looking for a dedicated Coordinator of International Student Success to join the Office of Global Engagement.
This is a unique, dual-focused position that sits at the heart of our international community. You will split your energy equally between International Student Services (ISS) and the Global Community Center (GCC), ensuring our students have both the immigration and compliance support and the vibrant social home they need to thrive.

- Contribute to the supervision and coordination of student staff, providing guidance and team oversight.
- Work alongside the Coordinator of International Student Engagement to represent the Global Community Center and provide student services at campus events, outreach initiatives, and tabling opportunities.
- Assist with the upkeep of and responses to emails in the GCC email account, including responding to general inquiries and referring students to resources.
- Other duties as assigned.
