* Additional criteria as the Board may establish.

JOB GOAL
To lead the district in creating an organization of one, increasing student achievement and establishing school community relationships
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Personally operates his/her bus on a full-time basis.
  • Transports school children to and from school using every precaution for their maximum protection.
  • Performs daily pre-trip inspections, completes the inspector check list, and turns this check list in to the transportation department and the principal of the school.
  • Keeps his/her bus in good, safe operating condition.
  • Provides for the needs of individual students.
  • Observes and abides by the laws of the State, the rules and regulations of the State Department of Education, the School Board, the Superintendent of Schools, the Transportation Coordinator and the principal of the school.
  • Reports disciplinary problems to the Principal or his designee.
  • Be in position behind the wheel before the first student boards the bus, remains on the bus until the last student is discharged from the bus.
  • Participates in in-service training.
  • Arranges for his/her students to be transported to and from school when his/her bus is broken down or he/she is unable to drive.
  • Notifies the principal of each school and the transportation department when his/her bus is broken down or he/she is unable to drive.
  • Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the proper authority.

  • Reports to job-related injuries within 48 hours of work accident to the immediate supervisor.

  • Attends meetings as directed.
