Job description

The Football Program Intern/Work-Study position offers an opportunity for individuals interested in athletics management, recruiting, and coaching to gain hands-on experience within a competitive football program. This role supports the Recruiting Coordinator and Head Coach with administrative, logistical, and operational tasks to ensure the efficient functioning of the football program.  

This is a part-time, non-benefits eligible hourly position. The hiring range for this position is $18.81 - $23.04 per hour.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Recruiting Coordinator in managing databases, ensuring accurate and updated records of prospective student-athletes (PSAs). 
  • Monitor and organize recruiting materials, including mailouts, graphics, and presentations for PSAs. 
  • Research and compile information on recruits, including academic and athletic profiles. 
  • Coordinate and organize recruiting events, such as campus visits, junior days, and official visits, ensuring all compliance guidelines are met. 
  • Assist in maintaining recruiting calendars and schedules for evaluations, communications, and visits. 
  • Support the Head Coach with practice preparations, including setting up equipment, organizing drills, and distributing practice schedules. 
  • Record and analyze game and practice film to provide insights for the coaching staff. 

Requirements

  • Current student or recent graduate in sports management, business, communications, or a related field. 
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and recruiting management software is a plus. 
  • Passion for football and an understanding of the game. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, as required. 
  • Assist in preparing scouting reports, game film organization, and breakdowns using platforms like Hudl or similar systems 
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

  • Environment: Work will be performed in a combination of office settings, football facilities, and outdoor environments (e.g., practice fields and stadiums). 
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 pounds as needed. 
  • Schedule: This role may require irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the football schedule and recruiting events. 

Benefits

This is considered a part-time, hourly, non-benefits eligible position. The minimum starting rate for the position is $18.19 per hour.
