BCHA is a premier Jewish Day School based in Stamford CT with 70 years of excellence to its name. The BCHA Upper School, newer to BCHA, is at a pivotal moment of growth and transformation. With investment and momentum from key stakeholders, the Upper School is now primed to continue BCHA’s reputation for excellence as it shapes an identity as a premier institution of its own.

Position Overview

BCHA seeks a dynamic, student-centered educator to serve as Director of Student Experience for the Upper School. This role is central to shaping the daily life of students, strengthening school culture, supporting enrollment growth, and contributing to the academic program. Working closely with the Principal and faculty, the Director will help cultivate a vibrant, values-driven student experience that inspires young adults to embody BCHA's core values of leadership, responsibility, kindness, Jewish commitment, and personal growth.

As a newly created position, the Director of Student Experience will have a unique opportunity to help design, build, and elevate Upper School culture. The Director will have significant opportunities for creativity, leadership, and professional growth within the role. This person will develop programs, traditions, and initiatives that strengthen student engagement, belonging, and school spirit. Joining BCHA at an exciting moment of growth, the Director will work alongside a leadership team committed to educational excellence, innovation, and professional development. Together, they will help create an Upper School experience in which students thrive academically, socially, spiritually, and emotionally.

This role is ideal for an educator who is energized by the transformative potential of Jewish education and inspired by the opportunity to help advance BCHA's vision for the future. The Director will collaborate with students, families, and colleagues to ensure that the Upper School experience reflects the very best of what BCHA aspires to be by preparing students to lead lives of purpose, character, Torah values, and meaningful contribution to the Jewish community and the broader world.

Key Responsibilities

Student Experience & School Culture

  • Foster a positive, respectful, and growth-oriented school culture

  • Lead and oversee the day-to-day student experience in partnership with the Principal

  • Supervise Student Life Coordinators and support Student Council

  • Facilitate a weekly planning meeting to coordinate student programming and school-wide events with the above team members and other stakeholders

  • Oversee the Mashgicha in her leadership of the Chesed Program and Israel Advising

  • Partner with administration to uphold and manage student systems, including dress code, punctuality, and phone use

Admissions & Enrollment

  • Collaborate with the Principal and PA to plan and execute the annual Open House

  • Engage directly with prospective students and families within the current 8th grade throughout the admissions process

  • Build and deepen relationships with feeder schools and community partners

  • Lead outreach efforts across Fairfield County and Westchester County to support enrollment growth

  • Manage key deadlines and processes for external student enrollment

Teaching Responsibilities

  • Teach two upper-level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise
