Manager, Student Engagement- Detroit, MI

The Detroit Regional Chamber leads the most comprehensive talent and education portfolio of programs and policy work in the state. The Manager, Student Engagement will serve as a liaison between Detroit-area students and Chamber student-centered programming and lead related initiatives on behalf of Detroit Drives Degrees.

Primary Duties of the Manager, Student Engagement:

  • Lead the delivery and refinement of the Summer STEP summer melt coaching program
  • Lead Postsecondary Student Advisory Fellowship by strengthening recruitment pipelines
  • Advance an intergenerational engagement strategy for multigenerational engagement and community outreach
  • Collaborate closely with the TalentEd community engagement team and Chamber's communication team to develop social media strategies

Manager, Student Engagement Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Masters' degree in counseling, higher education, social work or other related fields
  • Extensive experience in higher education, developing community and business partnerships, project management and direct service work.
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter who is passionate about the mission.
  • Ability to think strategically and work collaboratively to build and grow partnerships.
  • Able to work on multiple projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

This position will travel within Southeastern MI. Valid MI driver's license and transportation for traveling outside of the office.

**This position is grant funded for a year and will only be maintained as long as the funds are provided by an external source.**
