Job Description:
Purpose/Role
  • The Student Ambassador position supports the Admissions Department by offering campus tours, assisting with events, and responding to student inquiries. Ambassadors help create a positive experience for prospective students, ensuring smooth operations and promoting Point University's values and mission so potential applicants feel informed and excited about the community at Point University.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Give campus tours.
  • Work at campus events: Starting Point, Point Preview, etc.
  • Call prospective student inquiries.
  • Complete data entry tasks.
  • Attend ambassador meetings and training sessions.
  • Answer and maintain the general Admissions e-mail account.
  • Event preparation.
  • Various other duties as assigned by the Admission staff.

Rate of Pay
  • $8.50 per hour. Student employees are limited to working no more than 20 hours per week across all positions combined, or more than 10 hours in a single day. Student employees are paid bi-weekly. All student employees will be paid by direct deposit.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications and Employment Information
  • Student workers must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress - no lower than a 2.6 GPA and retain 67% of all classes.
  • Must have attended a minimum of one full semester prior to application.
  • Commitment period of one school year (August-May) and summer (May-August) will be on a need basis.
  • Responsible, reliable, and consistent individual.
  • Enthusiastic and knowledgeable about Point University.
  • Excellent relational and listening skills with a variety of personalities and people.
  • Visionary in outlook and positive in attitude.
  • Demonstrates an honest work ethic with a requirement to be responsible for handling sensitive and confidential personally identifiable information (PII).
