Job Description:
The Mercer University Douglas County Regional Academic Center (RAC) is looking for student-work-study-eligible students to fill the prestigious role of PART-TIME STUDENT AMBASSADOR. *Must be a Mercer student, enrolled for the school year.*
POSITION AVAILABLE: On going 5-25 hours per week. • Resume and one (1) letters of recommendation from Mercer University professors or staff member • Good academic standing
JOB DESCRIPTION: • Staff the front desk of the Mercer University Douglas County RAC. • Answer phones and route calls. • Greet and provide accurate information to prospective students, students, faculty, staff and/or visitors. • Provide support by making copies, faxing, typing directional signs, coffee etc. • Light labor required and moderate walking required. (e.g. moving chairs and/or tables to rearrange classrooms for various functions.) • Shift Checklist is to be reviewed prior to start of each shift - Morning, Midday, and Evening and completed at end of shift. Shift Checklist is to be turned in to Center Coordinator.* Perform miscellaneous duties relating to various campus events (e.g. registration, orientation, open house, etc.) • A more detailed job description can be provided at time of inquiry.
  • REQUIREMENTS:
    • Must be currently enrolled at Mercer University and eligible for the Federal Work Study Program (eligibility is determined by the RAC Financial Aid Office) * Fall and Spring ONLY.
    • Summer Session - Students need not be eligible for Federal Work Study
    • Experience working in an office setting, Canvas, Mymercer, and MercerLive (Required).
    • Ability to multi-task.
    • Courteous and Professional demeanor.
    • Professional phone skills.
    • In good academic standing.
