Salary: $10.00 - $12.00 Hourly

If you are looking for a job with a meaningful purpose that makes you feel good about what you do for a living, Southern Prep Academy is the place for you.... Southern Prep is not just a job, it is place where everything you do makes a difference in a young man's life. A sense of humor is required - as we love to have fun! We are seeking dedicated cafeteria workers with cooking and food prep experience to join our Dining Hall team. Southern Prep is a 125-year-old boarding school located in Camp Hill, AL, about 30 minutes outside of the Auburn/Opelika, AL area. Our school dining staff serves three (3) meals daily: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.


Job Duties and Tasks:

  • Assist Dining Hall Manager with food prep, serving, and clean-up as needed
  • Organize the feeding of all personnel in such a manner as to expedite the operation and avoid delays
  • Must be familiar with all rules and regulations concerning safety, fire, and health concerns
  • Arranges food and beverage items (e.g., placing in steam tables, a la carte trays, filing racks, etc.) for the purpose of serving meals to students and staff
  • Work closely with Dining Hall Manager to coordinate the specifics of special meals such as guest meals, to go meals, and the like
  • Provide counts for a meal, coordinate serving food and seconds, attend to special needs such as dietary restrictions
  • Help oversee the maintenance and sanitation of the dining hall equipment and furnishings
  • Assist with dish and utensil cleaning after every meal
  • Work cooperatively with other staff members
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have flexible availability during the week (Monday-Sunday)
  • MUST have a clean background and be able to work around minors
