Southwest Independent School District is seeking an exceptional, energetic, and student-centered professional to serve as the CTE Construction Teacher at Southwest High School.
This is an opportunity to lead and grow a high impact program that prepares students for successful careers in construction, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, welding, project management, and the skilled trades.
Create a hands-on, highly engaging learning environment where students master technical skills, develop professionalism, earn certifications, and graduate career-ready.
We are looking for a program builder. Someone who goes above and beyond, believes in students, and wants to create one of the premier high school construction programs in Texas.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or approved alternative certification pathway
Valid Texas teaching certificate
Trades & Industrial / Construction related certification (preferred)
Ability to effectively manage a classroom/shop environment
Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
Commitment to student success and high expectations
Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting check
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to teach and manage a classroom/lab environment effectively
