Essential Function:This position is responsible for providing career exploration support and coordinating student Launch Events with community business partners, staff and students.
Position Summary: This position serves as a resource for students, teachers, and parents to educate and engage in Academic and Career Planning (ACP) including: Career awareness, exploration, planning and training. The position leads and coordinates all Career Launch Studio activities that provide students, parents, educators and employers with access to information related to career exploration and experiences. In addition, create interactions that help students cultivate their own unique vision for post-secondary success.
Essential Duties:- Engage with the local business community to facilitate their participation in AASD student career exploration.
- Establish and coordinate Career Based Learning (CBL) student/business project-based activities to connect high school curriculum to on-the-job work experiences
- Design, coordinate, and implement CBL activities following the career clusters focus areas
- Create awareness of and access to the Career Launch Studio within the community (Academic and Professional) through outreach, events, and various media communications.
- Maintain a database of local business partner contacts and actively engage new partners to grow the program opportunities.
- Coordinate Launch Hour Program opportunities/experiences
- Facilitate mentorships, job shadows, Launch Hour, internship and youth apprenticeships opportunities.
- Aid students in hiring process including, resume and professional writing, navigating the application process, and preparing for a successful interview.
- Collaborate with all district career launch studio coordinator/volunteers to train on effective practices and tools.
- Collaborate with other district career launch studio volunteers, ACP Coordinators and external resources (ex: Business Advisory, FVTC, NEW MFG Alliance, ect.) to ensure processes and communication are effectively reaching students and addressing business partner needs.
