Job description

Do you enjoy working with kids and want to make a difference after school? The F.M. Kirby Children’s Center of the Madison Area YMCA is hiring Student Aides to support our classrooms in the afternoons.

In this role, you’ll assist teachers in implementing the Center's development program, assist in maintaining classrooms and shared spaces organized, and engage with children in a safe, supportive environment.

Who We’re Looking For:
  • Age 14 or older, available Monday through Friday, 3:00pm-6:00pm

  • Friendly, responsible, and great with young children, parents, and staff

  • Willing to obtain (or already have) CPR, First Aid, AED & Oxygen certifications

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

What to Expect:
  • Active environment—standing, walking, and sitting on the floor

  • Occasional lifting or helping with children (up to 50 lbs)

  • Working both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather

  • Exposure to typical childcare environments, including potential illness or bodily fluids
