Mackin Engineering & Consulting is seeking a motivated Assistant Structural Engineer to join our growing team based in Ohio. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers on a wide variety of building and infrastructure projects while developing strong technical and professional skills in a collaborative consulting environment.
As an Assistant Structural Engineer, you will support the design, analysis, and inspection of structural systems, helping deliver safe, efficient, and code-compliant solutions for our clients.

What you'll Do:
  • Assist with the design and analysis of structural systems for buildings and infrastructure projects
  • Perform structural calculations and modeling to verify safety, stability, and code compliance
  • Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and construction professionals
  • Participate in site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress and conformance to design intent
  • Support senior engineers during project meetings and design reviews
  • Stay current with applicable building codes, standards, and industry best practices

What We Are Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience (internship experience considered)
  • Familiarity with structural analysis software and CAD drafting tools
  • Working knowledge of applicable building codes and standards
  • Understanding of common construction materials and structural systems
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
