As a Strength & Conditioning Coach with Hyperion Biotechnology, you will play a vital role in supporting the U.S. Army's Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) program at Fort Hood, Texas. Title: Strength & Conditioning Coach

Location: Fort Hood, TX

Major Responsibilities/Activities

  • Develop and execute strength and conditioning programs.
  • Observe, demonstrate, and correct Soldier's performance of training/exercise techniques and form.
  • Coordinate scheduling of facilities for Government approved courses, training, and classes as applicable.
  • Ensure safe and effective operation of equipment used within their work capacity which contributes to a safe working environment.
  • Track and document Soldier/unit progression on a regular basis and recommend opportunities for H2F System improvement.
  • Participate in program quality assurance of the training programs to ensure programs are aligned with industry standards and provide a report monthly.
  • Participate in periodic meetings at the installation to provide a report on H2F System physical training program and recommendations/feedback on Soldier/unit progression.
  • Travel may be required in order to support units at other installations.
  • Other related duties/tasks as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of three full years of relevant SCC work experience within the last five years. Employment related to internships or graduate work up to one year will be considered towards relevant experience. The three-year experience requirement may be waived for honorably discharged prior service members or Military spouses.
  • Current certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA) as a Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification with Automated External Defibrillators (AED) certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross certification program. Web-based classes do not meet the requirement.
  • Demonstrate sufficient initiative, interpersonal relationship skills and social sensitivity such that they can relate to a variety of Soldiers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Capable of properly lifting and manipulating loads or weights up to 45 pounds and capable of meeting physical demands of training in all types of weather with Soldiers including the ability to hike over rough terrain, function in austere environments to observe Soldier training evolutions and to train, educate, coach, and mentor.
  • Read, write, and speak English and effectively communicate with Soldiers and leadership.
  • Operate a computer utilizing Microsoft applications, such as Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Must be able to pass drug screening and background checks and not have been convicted of a felony.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
