As senior members of our team, Managers are project leaders, thought leaders, people leaders, and key contributors to the growth and development of the firm.
As a Manager, you will lead small teams in helping analyze organizations' current capabilities, evaluate opportunities for improvement, and partner with clients to develop and implement a roadmap to achieve their desired future state vision. Specifically, you will leverage the firm's analytical frameworks and methodologies on various aspects of client engagements, working closely with senior and junior members of the firm to unpack complex situations and develop lasting recommendations for our clients. In particular, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing guidance and structure to Metis Strategy team members and stakeholders in the broader ecosystem, especially in complex, dynamic, and often ambiguous contexts
  • Leading by exemplifying firm culture and by identifying professional development opportunities for fellow team members

In addition to core consulting responsibilities, Metis Strategy offers a unique opportunity for Managers to help grow the intellectual, functional, economic, and geographic footprint of a thriving technology and business advisory firm. For example, Managers might:
  • Provide entrepreneurial and innovative thoughts about how to solidify, grow, and scale a relationship-driven professional services business
  • Help develop new methodologies, frameworks, and other intellectual property
  • Contribute to intellectual capital development by turning research and project-based intellectual property into white papers, articles, and other publishable materials
  • Become involved in or assume leadership for internal tools and capability development

Basic Qualifications
  • Experience: 7 to 10+ years of relevant work experience and demonstrated success working collaboratively in a professional services role, ideally in a business strategy and/or management consulting environment

  • People Management: A proven track record of working effectively to successfully manage small teams as well as complex workstreams in fast-paced environments with aggressive timelines
  • Location: Located within the Pacific time zone. Day-to-day, we work fully remotely but some clients require us to travel to their offices. We also value time when we can get together as a team and host quarterly in-person offsites to maintain our collaborative culture

What We Look For
  • Leadership: A healthy balance of intellectual curiosity, confidence, humility, creativity, and empathy, with the ability to coach junior team members and senior clients
  • Relevant Experience: Technology and business acumen with concrete examples of having helped companies solve complex business problems using a combination of people, process, and technology solutions
  • Problem Solving: Innovative problem-solving skills and entrepreneurial spirit, with the ability to turn ideas into action in pursuit of personal, team, and firm growth targets
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate complex ideas concisely, tailored appropriately for different audiences (executive to operational) and media (presentations, white papers, emails, etc.)
  • C-Level Interactions: Ability to produce polished and compelling analyses and recommendations for C-level initiatives
  • Relationship Orientation: Willingness to learn from, and collaborate with, others to build strong relationships with clients and team members
  • Motivation: Entrepreneurial grit with an outcome-oriented approach to business and an energetic "roll up your sleeves" mentality
  • Curiosity: High intellectual curiosity and intrinsic interest in, and knowledge of, emerging technologies and their applications in business contexts
  • Work Status: Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship is preferred
