Job description

Dover Precision Components (DPC) is hiring a Strategic Project Manager. We offer competitive pay and benefits and the ability to be a key team member within the Dover Precision Components’ organization. This role can be based at either of our Houston locations: Pearland or The Woodlands. This is a hybrid role with 2 days a week remote work possible/ 3 days onsite. Some travel (up to 15%) is required.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Strategic Project Manager is responsible for aligning and coordinating all aspects of Project Management, from initiation to completion of manufacturing and supply chain initiatives. This role bridges the gap between high-level strategies and implementation of the initiatives, while analyzing risk and ensuring the projects are completed on time, within scope and budget. The Strategic Project Manager will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders and external partners to ensure seamless execution of project objectives and deliverables. Responsibilities include:

Strategic Alignment:

  • Drive operational excellence; ensuring projects align to DPC's long-term mission and strategic pillars 
  • Manage all phases of strategic projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing 
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and cost estimates 

 

Stakeholder Management & Communication: 

  • Prepare and present status reports (critical updates & outcomes) to Sr. Management and stakeholders 
  • Lead project meetings and coordinate communication between internal teams and external partners 
  • Foster a collaborative environment and drive continuous improvement and organizational change across the teams 

 

Performance Metrics & Reporting: 

  • Develop and monitor KPIs; analyze data to evaluate project success 
  • Utilize data to improve processes and support decision-making 
  • Monitor project progress, identifying potential risks and implement mitigation strategies 
  • Ensure projects meet required standards (i.e. compliance, quality, safety, etc.) 

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Project Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field 
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Project Management, preferably in a Lean manufacturing environment with proven experience leading strategic projects across cross-functional teams 
  • Demonstrate excellent project management skills; ability to deliver results across multi-site operations 
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Microsoft Project) 
  • Ability to coach/motivate, work collaboratively and successfully influence stakeholders 
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, interpersonal skills 
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen 
  • High level of self-motivation with proactive approaches to problem solving and strong decision-making capabilities
  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, Word, Visio, Power Point and Power BI (Value Stream Mapping)
