As anAccount Manager - Downstream Chemicals, you will leverage your sales expertise, relationship management skills, and commercial acumen to support customer success and business growth. You will play a key role in managing customer accounts, identifying opportunities, negotiating commercial agreements, and ensuring the successful execution of sales strategies within your assigned territory.

As a Sales Senior Specialist - Account Management, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing and growing assigned customer accounts while maintaining strong long-term customer relationships.

  • Acting as the primary commercialcontactfor named accounts within a designated business group or product portfolio.

  • Applying account management fundamentals to understand customer needs, requirements and potential sales opportunities while supporting the account P&L

  • Developing and executing account plans to achieve sales, revenue, and profitability targets.

  • Identifying customer needs and recommending products, services, and solutions that align with business objectives.

  • Selling products and systems that require technical knowledge while collaborating with technical sales support teams as needed.

  • Supporting the development and implementation of pricing strategies, commercial terms, and customer-specific agreements within established guidelines.

  • Negotiating pricing, contractual terms, and commercial conditions to secure profitable business outcomes.

  • Managing customer opportunities, forecasts, and sales pipelines to ensure accurate business planning and execution.

  • Coordinating with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Engineering, Customer Service, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams, to deliver customer commitments.

  • Building and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within customer organizations.

  • Monitoring market trends, competitive activities, and customer requirements to identify new business opportunities.

  • Leading sales initiatives of moderate scope and impact while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and business performance.

  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives focused on commercial excellence, customer experience, and operational effectiveness.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college; or a High School Diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in Sales.

  • Have a minimum of 4 years of experience in downstream chemical process treatment programs.

  • Have a strong understanding of industrial chemical treatment technology and the sales process.

  • Have strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

  • Have previous experience working in a laboratory setting and/or familiarity with analytical methods and interpretation.

  • Have a comprehensive understanding of customer requirements and refinery market conditions.

  • Have the ability to present complex technical content to various levels of internal and external organizations in a clear and concise manner.

  • Have proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

  • Have the ability to drive a company vehicle as required to perform job duties (motor vehicle record checks will be conducted to determine eligibility).

  • This role is a full-time, hybrid position. Office space available inEdmonton, ABbut remote work is acceptable.
