About the Role

The Strategy team is responsible for working with the Canada leadership team to define long-term goals for the business that enable resilient growth. In addition, the team works to identify how these goals can be achieved, partnering with key stakeholders, and to prioritize and assess new opportunities and partnerships. The team also maintains close relationships with Capital One US counterparts and business partners to ensure alignment with enterprise strategy.

In this role, you will apply your strategic leadership to address major company challenges, defining long-term business goals that enable growth. The team is focused on advancing our most critical strategic priorities by identifying and evaluating new business opportunities, including products, marketing strategies, and partnerships.

This role is ideal for a seasoned strategist experienced in shaping corporate strategy or top-tier consulting environments.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop business strategies that drive growth, profitability, and customer success for Capital One in the face of shifting consumer and regulatory behavior. Act as a strategic thought leader across the business.

  • People Leadership: Build and coach a high performing team of analytical strategists, including leading other people leaders.

  • Business Ownership: Have a strong ownership mindset, and P&L accountability for business cases. Manage and build the Strategy team pipeline.

  • Partnership: Work closely with colleagues across Capital One including: Tech, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Enterprise Strategy and others to drive improvement in quality, volume, service, and profitability

  • Executive Leadership: Partner with Capital One Canada's senior leadership team on high priority strategic projects. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of experience in quantitative analysis/financial modeling

  • At least 5 years of experience in managing high impact projects

  • At least 5 years of experience in competitive/market analysis

  • At least 5 years of experience in Corporate Strategy, Strategy Consulting, Strategy and Operations, and/or Business Development

  • Experience working with a broad stakeholder group, including senior leaders and executives

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree or higher in a quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)

  • At least 3 year of experience in people management

  • Strategy experience in consumer finance
