Job description

Strategy & Operations Program Manager - Personal Systems

Description -

Role Summary

Be part of HP's Personal Systems (PS) Strategy team and STAR (Strategic Tech Accelerator focused on AI), where you will help drive strategic priorities and execution across one of the company's most important businesses-while accelerating the identification, incubation, and scaling of differentiated technologies and experiences.

You will operate across PS Strategy (Consumer, Commercial, and Gaming Strategy, Competitive Intelligence, Strategic Programs, and Strategy & Planning) and partner closely with STAR to connect long-term strategy with technology acceleration-turning promising ideas into programs with clear business outcomes.

This is a great opportunity for a strong operator and problem solver to work at the center of PS Strategy and STAR. You will partner with senior leaders, connect priorities across teams, and help translate strategy and technology bets into measurable business impact.

We are looking for a highly organized, proactive, and strategic Business Operations and Program Manager to coordinate multiple programs across PS Strategy and STAR, bringing strong project management discipline to complex, cross-functional work. Reporting to the SVP of PS Strategy, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, builds alignment across diverse stakeholders, and keeps high-priority initiatives moving forward.

Key Responsibilities

Program & Portfolio Management

  • Lead execution of multiple cross-functional strategic and technology acceleration programs across PS Strategy and STAR, ensuring clear priorities, alignment and outcomes
  • Define clear project scopes, milestones, owners, timelines, and success measures to keep initiatives on track
  • Manage progress across multiple programs simultaneously, proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans
  • Bring structure, pace, and operational rigor to programs-from strategy and planning through incubation, execution, and follow-through

Strategic Operations & Team Effectiveness

  • Support and coordinate leadership meetings, strategy reviews, offsites, and team engagements with a high bar for quality and preparation
  • Own and continuously improve the PS Strategy operating cadence (weekly/monthly/quarterly rhythms), ensuring decision-quality, clear outcomes, and consistent follow-through across PS Strategy and STAR
  • Build and maintain an integrated leadership scorecard (OKRs/KPIs, portfolio health, key risks/dependencies) to enable crisp performance conversations and a single source of truth
  • Establish and manage decision logs and commitment tracking (including action items and deliverables) to ensure clarity on what was decided, who owns it, and when it will be delivered
  • Run lightweight retrospectives after key forums, offsites, and major milestones to capture lessons learned and translate them into improved ways of working

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Serve as a central connector across Consumer Strategy, Commercial Strategy, Gaming Strategy, Competitive Intelligence, Strategic Programs, Strategy & Planning, and STAR
  • Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, and business units to align priorities, plans, and execution
  • Facilitate clear communication and alignment across interconnected workstreams, stakeholders, and leadership teams

Planning, Analysis & Decision Support

  • Conduct targeted analysis and synthesize complex inputs into clear, actionable insights for decision-making
  • Support strategic planning, business reviews, and priority-setting activities across the organization
  • Support portfolio governance across PS Strategy and STAR: intake, prioritization, milestone health, and escalation of cross-functional risks and dependencies
  • Coordinate planning mechanics and resource visibility (capacity, key role assignments, and funding/resourcing signals) to help leaders make tradeoffs and keep priorities realistic
  • Own recurring leadership reporting artifacts (e.g., monthly business review packs and concise readouts): highlight deltas, implications, decisions needed, and clear asks

Communications & Executive Readiness

  • Develop clear, compelling narratives, presentations, and program updates for leadership audiences
  • Ensure consistency and alignment in communications across PS Strategy and STAR
  • Support leadership readiness for key internal meetings and strategic discussions

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Strategy, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred
  • 12+ years of experience in program management, strategy, business operations, consulting, or closely related roles
  • Strong program and project management capabilities, with experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives from planning through execution
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentation development
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to simplify complexity
  • Ability to influence and drive alignment across teams and stakeholders without direct authority
  • High degree of ownership, initiative, and operational discipline

Impact & Scope

In this role, you will help shape how the PS Strategy organization operates, aligns, and delivers against high-priority business goals. You will work on visible, cross-functional initiatives, partner with senior leaders, and play a key role in turning strategic priorities into coordinated action and measurable progress.

The pay range for this role is$160,000to$235,000USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
