Role Overview
The Operational Strategist is the operational backbone of the Performance and People Development (PPD) team. This role owns the global demand management and intake process, portfolio and catalog management, and high-level vendor relationships. They ensure learning and development requests from across the enterprise are appropriately scoped, prioritized, and handed off to the right learning consultants or facilitators. This individual is essential in driving operational effectiveness and governance for the entire PPD function.
Key Responsibilities
Intake & Demand Management
  • Manage the Global Intake Process: Serve as the primary point of contact for People Business Partners (PBPs) and business leaders submitting training and development requests (e.g., team effectiveness, skill development).
  • Needs Consultation & Triaging: Meet with stakeholders to discuss business needs, align requests to strategic priorities, and evaluate facilitator bandwidth.
  • Scoping & Prioritization: Compare intake requests, scope the work required, and prioritize projects before handing them off to learning consultants to design and deliver.
  • Decision Pathing: Determine appropriate solution path (e.g., "off-the-shelf" vs custom solution).

Portfolio & Catalog Management
  • Portfolio Governance: Manage portfolio and governance processes and procedures to ensure learning solutions are aligned with Nutanix's broader strategic goals.
  • Catalog Management: Maintain and update the global training schedule and catalog, ensuring accurate representation of classes, programs, and events across all regions (AMER, EMEA, APJ, and India).

Vendor & Financial Management
  • Vendor Relationships: Manage high-level external vendor relationships, including reviewing Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and Statements of Work (SOWs).
  • Budgeting & POs: Oversee budget tracking, purchase orders (POs), and submit contracts to procurement for vendor-led facilitation.

Operational Effectiveness & Technology
  • Process Optimization: Drive operational effectiveness via process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and continuous recommendations for workflow improvements.
  • Systems Administration: Liaise with the Learning Technologist to ensure timely system administration, course creation, and survey requests in the LMS (Nutanix University) and LXP (Skillify).
  • Logistics & Scheduling Coordination: Partner with Learning Technologist to assist with instructor assignments and location bookings for in-person and intact team sessions.
  • Team Communications: Manage PPD communications and the global mailbox, directing inquiries appropriately.

Key Partnerships
  • People Business Partners (PBPs): Collaborate closely on intake requests and business alignment.
  • Solutions/Talent Consultants: Hand off approved and scoped requests for detailed design and development.

Work Arrangement
This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration, Located in Durham, NC. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 2 - 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $107,000 and USD $161,000 per year.
However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
