Job description

Strategic Analyst
The Opportunity:
Develop, review, coordinate, refine, and analyze Headquarters Air Force (HAF), Multi-Service, Joint, Interagency, and Multi-National concepts, actions, and programming to assess the strategic environment and trajectory of the AF in geopolitical and military competition. Perform a broad range of highly complex quantitative and qualitative analyses on national and defense strategy, future operating environment challenges, and capabilities to develop hypotheses and propositions on solving operational and institutional military problems with doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership and education, personnel, and facilities (DOTMLPF) changes, or leveraging and exploiting adversary vulnerabilities to accrue advantages to the United States over time. Articulate the hypotheses in a narrative with the necessary level of detail to inform changes in Air Force systems, personnel, programs, concepts, and infrastructure. Provide strategic and operational SME-level support to political and military strategic planning to help guide implementation of high-level strategic guidance. Lead analyses and prepared decision aids using academic-based research methodologies. Provide training on research methodologies and intelligence analysis.
You Have:
  • 10+ years of experience in research and development, including strategy development, strategic planning, global posture, or strategic assessments
  • Experience with military intelligence and assessment for strategic decision-making
  • Experience with qualitative or quantitative methods analytical, statistical, or historical approaches using archival materials
  • Ability to show 3+ published works, including a publishing record in peer-reviewed journals or university press books within the areas of conflict processes, strategic studies, and analytical approaches to national security decision-making
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Doctorate degree in Asian Studies, Organizational Analysis, Strategic Studies, Russian Studies, Intelligence Studies, International Relations, Military History, or a National Security field such as Defense & Strategic Studies, Foreign Affairs, International Politics, or Economics

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
