Job description

Elevator Pitch

The Director of Strategic Programs acts as the strategic partner to the CFO, owning project management including M&A sourcing through integration, change management for systems upgrades, budget prioritization and an enterprise PMO that delivers company-wide transformation. You will help run the CFO’s operating system, lead critical company-wide programs, and drive business reviews for ROI that align with C-Suite goals.

Success in the Role (first 6–12 months)

In 30 days, you will:

  • Build relationships with key stakeholders and partners, including the Exec Leadership Team, Finance, and other senior leaders.
  • Align on CFO priorities, business rhythms, and the operating calendar (planning, forecasts, ELT/Board cycles, etc.).
  • Stand up functional reviews for strategic initiatives and budget planning.

In 90 days, you will:

  • Launch the organic investment review (ROIC model, tiered scorecards) driving start/stop/continue decisions.
  • Establish the Enterprise PMO cadence across IT projects, Contract Manufacturing change management, M&A funnel and targeted value projects (e.g., software subscription spend reduction, indirect procurement, off-shoring).

By 12 months, you will:

  • Deliver measurable ROI productivity (portfolio rebalanced; ROIC lift; cycle time improvement).
  • Advance at least one M&A transaction through stage gate process with a detailed Post Merger Integration plan.
  • Hit key transformation milestones with KPI improvements aligned with Company goals
  • Admin service SLAs met; CFO time alignment > 85% to top priorities.

The Work (what you’ll do):

Strategy & Internal Capital Investment

  • Drive annual/long-range planning process with CFO and CEO; translate strategy into OKRs and decision memos.
  • Run internal operations and organic investment reviews using ROIC/NPV scorecards; recommend rebalance actions and drive follow-through with ELT.
  • Collaborate with ELT and junior staff across all functions on related Company goals.

M&A / Corporate Development

  • Build theses and target pipeline with ELT; maintain deal cadence and reporting.
  • Own M&A stage gate process, due diligence orchestration, and executive decision points.

Enterprise PMO & Transformation

  • Stand up an Enterprise PMO for cross-company programs, including:
  • Quote-to-Cash (Q2C) (pricing/CPQ/Rev Cloud, ERP/CRM handoffs).
  • AR system modernization and finance operating mechanisms.
  • Plexus integration and operational change management
  • Point projects: software subscription spend reduction; indirect procurement optimization.
  • Establish governance, RAID (risks/assumptions/issues/dependencies), benefits tracking, and vendor/change management.

Operating System & Executive Comms

  • Design and run the CFO’s operating rhythm (planning/OKRs, MBR/QBR, offsites).
  • Serve as integrator across ELT; ensure fast, well framed decisions.
  • Own CFO communications (updates, decision briefs, partner with IR & marketing to develop investor/partner talking points).

Board & Governance

  • Manage the Board preparation and follow up materials across the ELT; ensure concise, decision-oriented content.

Leadership & Team

  • Leads a small team; partners closely with Finance, Legal, People, Supply Chain, Product/Engineering, GTM, and Marketing.

Location & Travel

  • 4 days/week onsite Waltham HQ; up to 10% travel

Compensation and Transparency Statement

The base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000-$222,000. In addition to base salary, this role offers a competitive target bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package. This range reflects our commitment to pay transparency and equity, in alignment with applicable state laws. Our compensation ranges are determined based on factors such as role, level, location, market benchmarks, and internal equity. The posted range represents the good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this role across U.S. locations. Actual compensation within the range will be based on the candidate’s skills, experience, education, and geographic location.
