Job description

We're looking for a Director, Strategic Initiatives to join Procore's Strategy organization. In this role, you'll serve as a trusted and strategic partner to the Chief Strategy Officer, driving high-impact strategic initiatives, enhancing organizational effectiveness, and managing key business priorities. Your primary goal will be ensuring cross-functional alignment and enabling operational excellence by anticipating needs, removing roadblocks, and translating strategic vision into concrete execution.
As a Director, Strategic Initiatives, you'll partner with senior initiative owners, cross-functional leaders, and executive leadership to drive program momentum, surface risks before they become blockers, and sequence critical work streams. Use your strategic outlook, operational discipline, and executive communication skills to lead cross-functional transformation, orchestrate operational rhythms, and maximize organizational performance. This position reports into the Chief Strategy Officer and will be based in our Austin, TX office. We're looking for someone to join us immediately.
What you'll do:
  • Act as a strategic partner to senior executives and functional leadership by translating broad corporate vision into actionable, high-impact initiatives.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment and accountability across departments to remove operational blockers, resolve ambiguity, and sequence work for cohesive execution.
  • Lead and execute high-impact strategic projects and special initiatives across the organization, ensuring timely delivery and measurable outcomes.
  • Oversee and drive core rhythm of the business activities, including quarterly business reviews (QBRs), OKRs/KPI tracking, and annual strategic planning cycles.
  • Enhance the effectiveness of key executive meetings by establishing clear agendas, driving high-quality content, communicating outcomes, and tracking follow-up actions to completion.
  • Identify systemic operational gaps and implement process improvements, best practices, and change management frameworks to help teams adapt to new structures and technologies.
  • Partner with finance and functional leaders to guide cross-functional planning and resource allocation, ensuring major initiatives align with strategic priorities.
  • Provide regular executive updates and performance reporting on the progress, risks, and overall health of Procore's core strategic big bets.

What we're looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Operations, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, business operations, or strategic program management, ideally within a fast-growing SaaS or technology company.
  • Proven track record of directly partnering with C-suite executives and senior leaders to drive enterprise-wide strategic transformation and operational rhythms.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical capabilities paired with strong operational discipline and execution-focused execution.
  • Expert-level executive communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • High emotional intelligence, sound business judgment, and a proactive mindset capable of thriving in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex change management initiatives and cross-functional process improvements at scale.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.

Additional Information
Base Pay Range:
192,000.00 - 264,000.00 USD Annual
This role may also be eligible for Equity Compensation and/or Bonus Incentive Compensation. Procore is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate's job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location.
