As a Legal Operations Lead, you will play a key role in establishing, implementing, and evolving a dedicated Legal Operations function aimed at optimizing the efficiency and performance of the Legal Services team. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Legal Services, U.S. Affairs and Global Legal Operations, you will be responsible for structuring, coordinating, leading, and advancing legal operations across Canada and the United States to maximize value, benefits, and the effective use of internal and external resources.


Working closely with stakeholders, you will drive the execution of strategic priorities, optimize governance and accountability practices, prioritize and manage improvement initiatives, and oversee risk management activities, while contributing directly to the evolution and value creation of the Legal Services function.

What You'll Accomplish With Us

As a Legal Operations Lead, you will be at the center of our mission. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead continuous improvement, automation, and digital transformation projects within Legal Services by defining, documenting, and optimizing key processes while coordinating stakeholders across the organization.
  • Establish and maintain effective governance practices, define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), ensure data quality and governance, and support the use of data for performance management and decision-making.
  • Manage external law firms and other service providers to maximize performance, value, and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives, including the organization of the annual legal professionals' meeting.
  • Support strategic planning, management of strategic and operational initiatives, preparation of leadership meetings, talent development efforts, and Legal Services budgeting activities.
  • Oversee the sector's risk management activities, including the development and maintenance of the business continuity plan, in collaboration with key stakeholders.

What Will Help You Succeed in This Role

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is recognized for impactful leadership, initiative, creativity, and a strong results-oriented mindset.
  • Demonstrates outstanding collaboration skills and the ability to engage internal and external partners while fostering teamwork.
  • Has a strong ability to structure and synthesize information, prioritize work effectively, and support decision-making within governance and performance management frameworks.
  • Is known for autonomy, rigor, organizational skills, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Has 10 or more years of experience in project management, advisory roles, cross-functional coordination, and the oversight and delivery of strategic initiatives.
  • Possesses strong analytical capabilities and advanced proficiency in Microsoft tools, particularly Excel (data analysis, KPIs, dashboards) and PowerPoint (executive presentations).
  • Holds a bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, Information Technology, or another related discipline (a master's degree is considered a significant asset).
  • Has knowledge of the legal field and/or professional services environments, as well as experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean/Agile), which are considered assets.
  • Has an advanced level of proficiency in both French and English, as the role requires producing and using documentation in both languages and collaborating daily with French-speaking and English-speaking colleagues through committees, meetings, and strategic initiatives across Canada and the United States.
