Position Announcement
The Woodbury School of Business invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Strategic Foresight and Business to support the launch and growth of the Bachelor of Science in Strategic Foresight and Business, the first undergraduate foresight degree of its kind in the United States.
This position emphasizes future-oriented strategy, applied foresight, data-informed decision-making, and AI-enabled business analysis. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses and, potentially, select graduate courses that help students anticipate change, evaluate uncertainty, analyze emerging trends, and translate strategic insights into practical business recommendations.
The faculty member will contribute to courses and program development in areas such as strategic management, scenario planning, environmental scanning, innovation, technology, forecasting, business analytics, competitive analysis, and decision-making under uncertainty. The position will involve planning, preparing, and delivering courses with measurable learning objectives; developing engaging and applied learning experiences; mentoring students through experiential projects; and helping students build the skills needed to lead organizations through uncertainty, technological disruption, competitive change, and global complexity.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong commitment to teaching, student mentoring, and preparing graduates for careers in strategy, consulting, innovation, market intelligence, business analysis, corporate strategy, risk management, entrepreneurship, and organizational transformation. The candidate who also has the ability to teach any of our other courses, including data analytics, business statistics, operations & supply chain management, and/or entrepreneurship courses, would be preferred.
Summary of Responsibilities
  • Teaching Responsibilities • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in areas such as: • Strategic Foresight • Strategy Formulation and Implementation • Strategic Management • Global Strategy • Business Analytics for Strategic Decision-Making • AI-enabled Strategy and Emerging Technologies • Employ experiential and applied pedagogies, including: o Scenario planning o Simulations o Case-based learning o Industry-engaged projects
  • Scholarly Research Responsibilities In alignment with AACSB expectations for intellectual contributions • Publish in peer-reviewed academic journals or equivalent scholarly outlets • Engage students, where appropriate, in applied or collaborative research • Seek external partnerships or funding when aligned with scholarly goals • Maintain an active and sustained research agenda in areas such as: o Strategic foresight and futures studies o Strategy under uncertainty o AI and emerging technologies in business strategy o Systems thinking, innovation, and organizational resilience
  • Mentoring and Curriculum Development: Mentor and advise students in applied research, consulting, and capstone projects, and contribute to curriculum development for the Strategic Foresight and Business program, including preparing students for a job or career path, meeting accreditation requirements, and building foundational knowledge in a discipline. Help students develop specific skills. Define learning outcomes and activities
