Job description

Strategic Executive Assistant to the CEO

Sutton Engineering, LLC  |  Plano, TX

About Us

Sutton Engineering is an elite MEP engineering firm specializing in data centers and mission-critical infrastructure. We're a fast-growing company built on collaboration, hospitality, and an uncompromising pursuit of excellence — and we're looking for someone who thrives in that kind of environment, not just tolerates it.

About the Role

We're hiring a highly detail-oriented, adaptable Strategic Executive Assistant to work directly alongside our CEO. This isn't a traditional calendar-and-email role — we need someone who can genuinely orbit around a fast-moving entrepreneur, absorb shifting priorities without losing a step, and become a trusted extension of his day-to-day decision-making.

The ideal candidate has previously supported an entrepreneur or business owner (not just a corporate executive) and understands the pace, ambiguity, and constant recalibration that comes with that world. Familiarity with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System), Strategic Coach, or Vistage is a strong plus — even partial exposure means less ramp-up time and a shared language from day one.

What You'll Do

•        Manage complex calendars, travel, and competing priorities in real time

•        Act as a gatekeeper and extension of the CEO's voice in internal and external communications

•        Track commitments, follow-ups, and action items generated in fast-moving meetings and coaching sessions

•        Help keep quarterly priorities (“Rocks”), scorecards, and accountability structures on track

•        Anticipate needs before being asked, and adjust smoothly when plans change without notice

•        Draft correspondence, prepare materials, and represent the CEO's judgment with professionalism and discretion

What We're Looking For

•        Experience supporting a founder, entrepreneur, or owner-operator

•        Meticulous attention to detail paired with genuine comfort in unpredictable, interruption-heavy environments

•        Strong written and verbal communication skills

•        Discretion and sound judgment with confidential information

•        A calm, adaptable presence — energized by change rather than thrown off by it

•        Comfortable taking direction and operating within someone else's priorities, while still thinking a step ahead

Our Core Values

Collaborative  •  Hospitality  •  Pursuit of Excellence  •  Innovative  •  Engaged

If you've ever wished you could be the person who makes a busy entrepreneur's world run more smoothly — anticipating what's needed, catching the details, and keeping pace no matter how fast things move — we'd love to hear from you.
