Job description

DAP is looking to hire Sr. Consumer Insights Analyst based at the corporate office in Baltimore, MD.

If you enjoy solving problems, understanding what makes people tick, and turning data into stories that inspire action, the Senior Consumer Insights Analyst role at DAP Global offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. You will work across a variety of projects, from new products and packaging to shopper behavior and marketing strategy, helping shape what gets built and how it goes to market.

In this role, you will uncover unmet consumer and professional-user needs, influence real-world product development, and help optimize marketing strategies across the entire consumer journey. You will partner with teams throughout the organization and ensure the voice of the consumer is represented in important business decisions.

Most importantly, you will bring insights to life. We are looking for someone who can go beyond reporting the numbers to tell a clear and compelling story about what the findings mean, why they matter, and what the business should do next.

Responsibilities:

Discover What People Need

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to better understand consumers, professional users, shoppers, and markets.
  • Identify unmet needs, frustrations, motivations, preferences, and opportunities across home improvement and professional applications.
  • Explore the full consumer journey, from initial awareness and consideration through purchase, product use, and repeat engagement.
  • Use primary and secondary research to monitor consumer trends, market dynamics, industry developments, and the competitive landscape.

Influence Products and Marketing

  • Translate consumer insights into clear recommendations that inform:
    • New product development
    • Product and value propositions
    • Packaging design and shelf placement
    • Brand positioning
    • Marketing and communication strategies
    • Portfolio and business planning
  • Partner with Product Management, Marketing, Category Management, Sales, and other cross-functional teams to address key business questions.
  • Connect consumer needs with business opportunities that support growth, profitability, and competitive advantage.

Work Across a Variety of Research Projects

Your projects may include:

  • Consumer segmentation
  • Concept and claims testing
  • Prototype and product testing
  • Packaging evaluation
  • Shopper and path-to-purchase research
  • Brand awareness and positioning
  • Focus groups and in-depth interviews
  • Market, category, and competitive analysis
  • Trend and macroeconomic research

No two projects will look exactly the same, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys learning, variety, and tackling new challenges.
Turn Data into a Story

  • Analyze and synthesize information from multiple research and data sources.
  • Uncover the meaningful story behind the data, not just the interesting statistics.
  • Translate complex findings into clear, accessible, and actionable recommendations.
  • Create engaging presentations and written reports that help stakeholders quickly understand what matters.
  • Build support for recommendations by clearly communicating the consumer perspective and potential business impact.

Manage Research from Objective to Recommendation

  • Help define the business objective and partner with the Senior Consumer Insights Manager to determine the appropriate research approach.
  • Develop research plans, coordinate data collection, conduct analysis, and support reporting.
  • Manage projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Identify, locate, and recruit professional contractors who meet research criteria, ensuring the right voices are represented in each study.
  • Support and maintain DAP's insights library so valuable knowledge can be shared across the organization.
  • Attend industry conferences and trade shows as needed, translating observations into actionable insights.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Market Research, Behavioral Research, User Research, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience applying qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into meaningful business recommendations.
  • Excellent storytelling, communication, and presentation skills.
  • The ability to synthesize information from multiple sources into a clear and compelling point of view.
  • Strong business curiosity and an interest in understanding consumers, products, markets, and competitors.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Benefits:

  • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance
  • Company Provided Life Insurance
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Company-paid short-term and long-term disability
  • 401(k) plans
  • Employer-funded pension plan
  • Tuition Reimbursement

Pay Range

  • $75k- $110k per year.
