Job summary

Responsible for ensuring an extraordinary customer store experience while operating cash registers, collecting payment and providing customer service assistance on the floor.

Summary of essential job functions:

  • Immediately greets all customers and ensures customer satisfaction
  • Accurately operates cash register, collects payment
  • Ability to ring minimum speed of 30 items per minute
  • Anticipates customer needs and answer all questions and requests thoroughly, including assistance with store layout, service and activities
  • Basic knowledge of pricing and products
  • Detailed knowledge of produce codes
  • Provide suggestions and product recommendations to customers
  • Ensure all customer and phone inquiries and pages are handled with appropriate telephone etiquette.
  • Provides support to Grocery Department for stocking food, packing/pricing products and merchandise
  • Complete specials projects and other duties as assigned

  • Upholds the 7 guiding principles of the company

  • Consistently presents a professional personal image and uphold the company's uniform policy
  • Maintain safe, clean and well-organized working and shopping environment

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Strong basic math skills including add, multiply, divide, subtract and calculate percentages.
  • Previous experience working in a retail environment preferred.
