THE ROLE As an Assistant Store Manager, you provide retail services to a unique client base - members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and in assisting them, you are helping your community. You assist with the management of the store operations, proving input into maintaining and maximizing sales while controlling expenditures and reviewing stock relative to sales and gross profit, taking corrective action if needed. You assist in monitoring inventory levels and oversee stocktaking. The Assistant Store Manager develops marketing strategies and assists employees in merchandizing and proper use of layout and display techniques. You recommend improvements to sales events and seasonal promotions and ensure effective set ups and displays for national and local promotions. You ensure new employees are aware of policies and procedures and verify the correctness of employees’ schedules. You assist with the annual budget process, analyze and monitor revenue and expenses, and evaluate cost, quality and mix of goods and services.
