Now Hiring – Security Officers (Seasonal with Opportunity for Permanent Placement)
Stonegate Protection is currently hiring for security positions at Lake Wildwood Association in Penn Valley, CA. These roles begin as seasonal positions with Stonegate Protection, with a high potential for transition into permanent employment with Lake Wildwood Association as they move to an in-house security model effective August 1, 2026.
Job Title: Security Gate Officer (Part-Time & Full-Time hours available)
Location: Penn Valley, CA
Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Director of Security and/or Security Site Supervisor
Compensation: $18.00–$20.00 per hour. Pay based on position, experience, qualifications, and internal equity, in accordance with California law.
Schedule: Swing shifts available. Must be available weekends and holidays.
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision for employees working 30+ hours/week after 60 days. Paid vacation for full-time employees. Holiday pay and paid training available.
Position Summary
Security Officers help maintain a safe environment by controlling access, patrolling property, enforcing rules, and assisting residents and guests to prevent or reduce injury or property loss.
Key Responsibilities
  • Control access and verify entry requirements
  • Patrol property (foot/vehicle) and respond to incidents
  • Enforce site rules, traffic regulations, and applicable laws
  • Respond to calls, alarms, and emergencies
  • Document incidents, violations, and activities
  • Provide customer service and assistance
  • Inspect property for hazards or security concerns
  • Coordinate with law enforcement/emergency services
  • Maintain assigned equipment and vehicles
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid California Guard Card (BSIS)
  • Valid California Driver License (for patrol roles)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior security experience preferred
  • Customer service experience required
Physical, Mental, and Environmental Demands
Physical: Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively; manual dexterity; driving, walking, standing, sitting, running, bending, lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs. Use of vehicles, baton, computer, radio, and phone.
Mental: Ability to read reports, maps, and instructions; basic math; memory, analysis, judgment, decision-making, attention to detail, data entry, and investigative tasks; may include supervision.
Environmental: Work alone or with others; verbal/face-to-face contact; various shifts and extended hours; indoor/outdoor work; exposure to weather, temperature changes, noise, equipment, dust, moving objects, and vehicle fumes.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a guard shack, on foot or vehicle patrol, and occasionally by boat. Outdoor work in varying weather conditions is required.
