Job Summary:
The Norfolk Tides are seeking Bat Boys to support clubhouse and dugout operations on game days at Harbor Park. This part-time position plays a key role in maintaining game flow and upholding a professional team environment. The ideal candidate has a basic knowledge of baseball, a positive attitude, and a strong interest in gaining entry-level experience in the sports industry.
Key Duties:
  • Stock dugouts and bullpens with water, seeds, towels, gum, and other equipment.
  • Organize and maintain bats, helmets, and related equipment in the dugout.
  • Retrieve and store bats after each at-bat.
  • Retrieve foul balls and player equipment as needed.
  • Deliver baseballs to the umpire during the game.
  • Assist with keeping dugouts clean and organized.
  • Collect equipment from dugouts and bullpens postgame.
  • Follow all league rules, team policies, and safety guidelines.
  • Remain attentive and alert throughout the entire game.
  • Work shifts as ball boy as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends.
  • Available for the majority of remaining home games.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of baseball rules and game flow.
  • Responsible, punctual, and respectful attitude.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and react quickly.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.
