Position Profile/General Purpose

Performs activities associated with the distribution of merchandise from the Distribution Center to the showrooms and customer locations. Participates in various areas of Distribution Center operation including packaging, order fulfillment, product inspection, inventory control, and shipping & receiving.

Duties may include some or all of the following:

  • Gather equipment and supplies necessary to ship merchandise.
  • Use RF scanner to pick, select, and pack merchandise in the Warehouse.
  • Obtain certification to operate warehouse machinery and all motorized equipment.
  • Drive motorized stock chaser to Bin locations to retrieve merchandise.
  • Operate forklift to load and/or unload carts and restock merchandise.
  • Match customer orders to merchandise in locations.
  • Transfer merchandise from pallets in locations to stock chaser or carts.
  • Pick merchandise and place it on a stock chaser and/or into a box or tote.
  • Remove empty boxes, empty pallets, straps, or other debris from locations.
  • Complete necessary paperwork to process overages, shortages and damages of merchandise.
  • Verify customer number and orders quantity to be accurate with the order fulfillment requirements.
  • Identify and verify merchandise quantities through comparison of description and SKU markings on merchandise to quantities on a printed receiver list.
  • Package product per HH packaging standards for shipping to clients.
  • Manually load and/or unload containers, trailers, and vendor vehicles to pallets or inspection tables.
  • Straighten merchandise, equipment, and supplies.
  • Operate equipment in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Minimize inventory loss by handling and storing merchandise properly.
  • Inform management of unsafe conditions and acts.
  • Maintain a clean environment.
  • Adhere to all company and Distribution Center policies and procedures, including attendance, quality, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications

Ability to lift and move minimum 75 pounds individually and up to 200 pounds as team lift on a regular basis. Ability to perform and pass a lift test during interview process. Ability to lift and move bulky merchandise on a regular basis. Ability to stock and retrieve merchandise from various heights, ranging from the floor level up to the ceiling of the Distribution Center. Ability to operate warehouse equipment previously mentioned. Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment. Ability to work overtime or different shifts based on business needs. Compensation range for this role is $17.00 - $19.00. Relevant salary considerations will include candidate qualifications and experience, other business/organizational needs and market factors.
