Job Description

Every memorable dining experience at Fairmont Hotels and Resorts begins behind the scenes with our culinary team’s commitment to safe, efficient operations and exceptional cuisine. We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, as our new Kitchen Manager.

What you will be doing:   

Reporting to the Executive Chef, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:  

  • Direct supervision of all stewarding employees, and supervisors as well as training, performance management, scheduling and assigning of daily duties and long term projects 
  • Follow departmental policies, procedures, safety and service standards 
  • Consistently offering professional, engaging and friendly service.  
  • Ensuring the highest degree of cleanliness and maintenance in accordance with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts standards, policies and procedures.  
  • Work closely with the outlet leaders to maintain adequate levels of china, silver, and glass par stock levels 
  • Reports any damaged or not working equipment to maintenance or proper contractor and follows up 
  • Conduct periodic inventories to ensure par stocks and resource availability are maintained, determining degree of usage and identifying purchase or equipment requirements. 
  • Play an active role in the recruitment, orientation and training of new employees 
  • Embrace the Fairmont brand promise and luxury in your role and in all your interactions.  
  • Foster an inclusive environment where every individual feels valued and respected 
  • Other duties as assigned 
Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:  

  • 4 years proven leadership and supervisory skills in a Food and Beverage operation 
  • Thorough knowledge of a large Stewarding Department 
  • Must be computer strong with a knowledge of Excel, word, electronic mail 
  • Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management a definite asset 
  • Must be results oriented, very organized, highly motivated and able to work under pressure 
  • Must be committed to and have a full understanding of the health and safety practices in the workplace 
  • Must be certified in WHMIS
