Flexible Scheduling. Join our newly renovated Ambulatory Surgery Center, including five operating rooms and a sterile processing department. Specialize in cutting-edge orthopedic (including pain management) and spine procedures while advancing your surgical technology career.

Job Summary:

The Surgical Technologist handles instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. Has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. He/she will perform other related duties as needed to maintain department cost containment, efficiency, as well as quality performance.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

A minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Surgical Technologist is required. Is competent in role as a Surgical Technologist and displays advanced knowledge and ability to independently perform roles and tasks related to the field of surgical technology. Anticipates surgeons' needs and is acknowledged by staff as advanced in field. Ability to first assist is preferred.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Post high school education, certification or diploma required. Completion of a Surgical Technologist program, completion of Military Operating Room Specialist course or the Froedtert Health sponsored apprentice II program required.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire. Certification as a Surgical Technologist is highly preferred.
